Here we have BMW x3 and x5 bi turbo systems. 286 bhp straight 6 cylinders engines.
Both cars had exactly same problem. It was lagging power and smoking very badly from exhaust.
We found seals on both turbochargers had gone and were passing oil to the exhaust.
One of turbos got seized. 54399700045 54399700065 5326970000 5326970001
We have found the oil feed pipes got blocked up by carbonized oil,. Simply lack of service killed those turbos.
BMW x3 and x5 3.0sd 3.5d both turbos on twin turbo system must be reconditioned 54399700089 5326970005
New bearing housing, shaft, wheel, seals full balance, pressure test must be applied.
To avoid further problems we must conduct engine oil flush as well !
Reconditioned turbos for bmw x5 twin turbo system are very hard to install. It takes about 2 days to complete the job.
After oil pressure measure we assured the new turbos for BMW x5 and x3 are in perfect condition and environment.
During test drive on motorway we also monitor specified and actual boost pressures to confirm both twin turbos are boosting correctly without any noise or lag.
After test drive wit customer he confirmed the car never drove like that. It is like new with much more power and more responsive.
